Nuvigil – Early Insights on the New Launch

We surveyed 25 physicians to get a sense for their early insights on Nuvigil, the follow up drug to Cephalon’s Provigil. Nuvigil was launched June 1st and with approximately 8 weeks of being on the market, we thought it an appropriate time to monitor physician perceptions of the new drug.

Of our sample of 25 physicians, 7 were psychiatry specialists while 18 were general internists. The average experience was 15 years as a practicing MD and it was required that they be treating at least 75 patients currently on Provigil or Nuvigil therapy.

70% of the sampled physicians who responded to the question (n=23) had already been detailed on Nuvigil. Of the physicians that were detailed and who could remember who had provided them information on Nuvigil (n=13), it was a fairly even mix between representatives from Cephalon and Takeda.

Have you been detailed on Nuvigil? (n=23)
