Docs complete half million MobileCME courses with Epocrates
ePharmaceuticals: A Higher Order of Intelligence
Epocrates continues to grow, adding a new State-Required CME Channel last week and logging more than 500,000 completed MobileCME courses in the past two years. According to Jeffrey Tangney, Epocrates' executive vice president of sales and marketing, the success of MobileCME comes from its content and convenience. "Today's physicians are always on the go and were seeking a more convenient CME option," Tangney tells ePharm5. "Physicians report earning credits at their kid's soccer game or in between appointments with Epocrates." The new State-Required CME Channel helps physicians comply with the 16 states that require doctors to complete CME about specific topics, such as child abuse, pain control, and risk management. According to the company, these educational credits are often hard to find, and the new channel allows physicians to take the courses for free via MobileCME. Epocrates also recently introduced a CME Tracker to make it easier for physicians to track their MobileCME courses and credits.
