We would like to thank the physicians who have participated in the Epocrates Honors™ surveys, and also thank those of you who have opted in to participate in the program by updating your user profile accordingly. The Epocrates Honors Program offers users in our network the opportunity to provide their insights on current clinical topics in return for an honorarium, and also helps Epocrates earn revenue so that we can continue to provide you with useful clinical software. If you have not yet opted in, you still have time! Please follow the directions below. Currently the Honors program is only available for physicians; however, in the future, we hope to offer these opportunities to other professionals in our network. If you are not a physician and are interested in future opportunities, we still encourage you to opt in.

If you are interested in participating but are not sure whether you have indicated so in your user profile, please visit our Web site at https://www.epocrates.com/ and click "My Profile" in the upper right hand corner. Next, enter your user name and password, click "edit" in the User Profile box, and make sure the first box is not checked. (This box is labeled "Please do not inform me of opportunities for reimbursement such as participating in market research OR opportunities to assist Epocrates with future product development.") If your profile fits one of the upcoming survey's requirements, we will send you an email invitation to participate. If you have any questions about the Epocrates Honors program, please email honors-support@epocrates.com.

Are you using MultiCheck and Regimens and Tables - two of our most useful and unknown Epocrates Rx™ features?

Do you know how to access all the valuable features in Epocrates Rx™ including MultiCheck and Regimens and Tables (including the latest AHA ACLS and arrhythmia guideline algorithms)?

Accessing MultiCheck - This unique feature allows you to select up to 30 medications and quickly determine if any clinically significant drug interactions exist.

You can access this feature in 2 convenient ways:

Option 1:
· Open Epocrates Rx™ (you must be inside the application to use MultiCheck).
· Tap the Menu button, which is at the bottom left-hand corner of your screen.
· You will see App, Edit and Options at the top left of your screen.
· Select 'App' then "Run MultiCheck."

OR

Option 2: Open Epocrates Rx™, and use the graffiti shortcut: /i

To use MultiCheck, tap on any number of drugs (up to 30) and click Run. The interactions will be displayed. Then, tap on each pairing to view the detailed interaction information between the two drugs. To run another check, tap "New." Otherwise, tap "Close."

Accessing Regimens and Tables - The latest ACLS and arrhythmia guideline algorithms from the AHA are now included in Regimens and Tables. Some other examples of Epocrates Regimens and Tables include:

· Vaccination Schedule, Child
· Formulas, General
· Formulas, Cardiac
· Therapeutic Drug Levels
· Narcotic Equivalents
· Thrombolytic Criteria
· Inhaler Colors
· H. pylori Treatment
· Post-Coital Contraception

Regimens and Tables can be accessed in three different ways:

Option 1 (suggested method):
· Search "By Class"
· Tap "Other"
· Tap "Regimens and Tables"

Option 2:
· Search "By Drug"
· Tap "Tables" (in between Syprine and tacrine)

Option 3: Each of the tables are also individually listed alphabetically within the "By Drug" listing.

We are in the process of creating even more useful tables. After we release them, they will be automatically integrated into your application when you AutoUpdate.

If you would like a visual guide to provide more information about these features and many others, please visit our website and take the Epocrates Rx™ tour by clicking: https://www.epocrates.com/catalog.doEpocratesRx4/tour/.

Epocrates Advocate of the Month

Advocate Program

As part of our effort to spread the word about Epocrates software, we created the Epocrates Advocate Program. This program was designed for those users who are interested in sharing information about Epocrates with colleagues. If you are currently an Epocrates Advocate, we would like to thank you for participating in the Advocate program. If you would like to become an Epocrates Advocate, please write to advocates@epocrates.com.

Advocate of the Month

This month, we have selected Dr. Bill Rose, an emergency physician from Morgantown, West Virginia to be our Advocate of the Month. We would like to thank Dr. Rose for including Epocrates in his recent American College of Emergency Physicians' member newsletter article about the benefits of using mobile technology in his practice.

"Epocrates Rx™ and Epocrates ID™ have been real timesaving tools for my Emergency Medicine practice. On a busy day in the Emergency Department I don't have time to go find a book to look up medications so it is extremely helpful to have Epocrates software immediately available and up-to-date. Patients are really impressed with Multicheck when I check for potential drug interactions at their bedside."

- Dr. Bill Rose

This concludes the September issue of the Epocrates Newsletter. We hope you enjoy using Epocrates medical software, and encourage you to contact us at feedback@epocrates.com if you have any questions or suggestions for improvement. Best wishes! - The Epocrates Team
