Epocrates Coder

To find ICD-9 and CPT® codes for thousands of diagnoses and procedures in a jiffy, refer to Epocrates Coder, available in Epocrates Essentials Deluxe premium mobile clinical suite for Palm OS devices and Windows Mobile Pocket PC devices syncing to a Windows computer.

  1. To access Epocrates Coder, tap on icd icon in the Epocrates black bag tab, "my" tab, or directly from your device start screen.
  2. Select the ICD9 or CPT tab.
  3. Look for a code in one of three easy ways. For example, to find seafood allergy:
    • Start entering the name of the diagnosis or procedure until you see it in the scrolling list

    • Drill down by category

    • Select "View By: Code" and enter any part of the code

  4. For long titles, tap on the ellipse (…) and hold down the stylus/key to view it in full.
  5. Tap on the code listing to view a detailed description.
  6. To save time, you can add frequently used codes to your Favorites list. Tap on the code title and then tap "Add to Favorites". Tap the "Favorites" tab to access your favorite codes.
