Scott M. Fishman, M.D.
Scott M. Fishman, MD, is Chief of the Division of Pain Medicine and Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of California, Davis. He is currently president and chairman of the Board of the American Pain Foundation (APF). He previously served as president of the American Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM) and a member of the Board of Directors of the American Pain Society (APS). His honors and awards include the John and Emma Bonica Award for Public Service from the APS. He has provided testimony and consultation to state and federal legislatures, agencies, and organizations. He has authored and coauthored many articles and books, writes a monthly column in Pain Monitor Newsletter for the APF, and has served as a pain expert for Discoveryhealth.com. He is also senior editor for the journal Pain Medicine.
