Paul E. Sax, M.D.

Paul E. Sax, M.D., is Clinical Director of the Division of Infectious Diseases and the HIV Program at Brigham and Women's Hospital and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Sax has received numerous honors, including the 2009 Clinical Educator Award from the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the HIV Medicine Association. He is Editor-in-Chief of Journal Watch: AIDS Clinical Care, and he serves on the peer review board of the HIV/AIDS Section of UpToDate, as well as the editorial board of Medscape HIV/AIDS. Dr. Sax is on the core faculty of the International AIDS Society-USA and the New England AIDS Education and Training Center. He is a principal investigator for the AIDS Clinical Trials Unit at Brigham and Women's Hospital and a member of the Cost-Effectiveness of Preventing AIDS Complications (CEPAC) Research Group. Dr. Sax has authored or co-authored more than 100 journal articles, as well as the textbook HIV Essentials 2010, which is now in its third edition.
