Chad T. Whelan, M.D.
Chad T. Whelan, M.D., is the Director of the Division of Hospital Medicine and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. Dr. Whelan's research and educational interests include evidence-based medicine, biomedical informatics, and quality improvement and measurement. He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Hospital Medicine.
His work on topics such as evidence-based medicine, gastrointestinal bleeding, and quality improvement has been published in more than 25 articles in publications such as The Journal of General Internal Medicine, The Journal of the American Medical Association, The British Medical Journal, Endocrinology, Academic Medicine, the Archives of Internal Medicine, and the Journal of Hospital Medicine.
Dr. Whelan has also been active in the Society of General Internal Medicine and the Society of Hospital Medicine. He served as Course Director for the Society of Hospital Medicine's 2007 Annual Meeting, Chair of the Palliative Care Task Force for Society of Hospital Medicine, and Chair of the Evidence-Based Medicine Task Force for Society of General Internal Medicine. Currently, he is the Chair of the Society of Hospital Medicine Career Satisfaction Task Force and the Acute Coronary Syndrome Quality Improvement Resource Room.
