Douglas P. Zipes, M.D.
Douglas P. Zipes, MD, is Distinguished Professor at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dr. Zipes is a member of the Association of American Physicians and the American Society for Clinical Investigation. He has received the Cor Vitae Award, the Herrick Award, and the Distinguished Achievement Award from the American Heart Association; the Distinguished Scientist Award from the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society; and the Cardiostim Medal. Dr. Zipes is the founding editor-in-chief of Heart Rhythm, and he serves on the editorial boards of many peer-reviewed journals, as well as on the medical advisory board for ABCNews.com and the editorial board of the Saturday Evening Post. He has published over 800 medical articles and more than 20 textbooks.
