Epocrates MedTools applications are designed to help specialists save time. Instead of making them part of the core Epocrates application we let our customers choose the ones most useful to them.

MedTools applications are derived from (but not limited to) organizational or association guidelines, accredited reference books, package inserts, dosing calculators, and current algorithms used in medical practice.

How?

All Mobile Software Users:

Visit the Epocrates MedTools Overview page.
Select a MedTool application you would like to install on your device.
Check system requirements on the overview page or individual MedTool page to verify whether the application is compatible with your operating systems.
Click "Download" and save the application file to your computer's "Desktop."
Locate the file on your desktop and double click it to begin the installation process.
Once installed, MedTools applications are conveniently located under the 'black bag' tab in the Epocrates application.

Schedule a Regular Wireless AutoUpdate*

If you are often too busy to AutoUpdate (receive Epocrates updates by syncing while connected to the Internet), this is a great feature for you!

Providing your mobile device has wireless Internet access and is running Epocrates Rx/Epocrates Rx Pro version 6.6 or higher, you can schedule a weekly, wireless AutoUpdate*. Once you have set it up, you will always have the latest information at your fingertips.

How?

Palm OS Users With Wireless Access Only:

Confirm you have Epocrates Rx/Epocrates Rx Pro version 6.6 or higher - tap on the Rx tab and then on the "e" symbol in the upper left corner. Select "Tools" and "About Epocrates". If your version is lower than 6.6 you will need to redownload your Epocrates software.
Tap the "e" symbol again and under "App" tap "AutoUpdate".
Next to "Timer", tap "Disabled".
Set the time and day when you wish to schedule a regular weekly AutoUpdate.*
Tap "OK", and then "Close".
If you are using your device for other tasks when the scheduled AutoUpdate is initiated, you will have the option to postpone the AutoUpdate for up to one day and continue working.

Note: Make sure your device is turned on and connected to the Internet. If your PDA phone is turned off, your scheduled AutoUpdate may not work.

*Data transfer or access charges may apply; please check with your carrier if you are not sure of the charges.
