Look up ICD-9 Codes (and set them as your default screen)

If you subscribe to the Epocrates Essentials all-in-one reference, Epocrates Dx disease reference, or Epocrates Lab diagnostic reference, you can look up ICD-9 codes for your diagnosis/ associated diagnoses to help you get reimbursed.

How?

Dx:

  1. If you subscribe to the Epocrates Dx disease reference, tap on the Dx tab in your Epocrates application.
  2. Look up a disease or condition.
  3. Tap on the triangle in the lower left corner of the screen to display the yellow monograph menu.
  4. Tap on Miscellaneous to view ICD-9 codes.
  5. BONUS TIP: To set the Miscellaneous screen with ICD-9 codes as your default Dx screen, tap on the Dx tab, then tap on Tools (Palm OS users - tap on the e symbol first), select Preferences, and choose Default to: Miscellaneous.

Lab:

  1. If you subscribe to the Epocrates Lab diagnostic reference, tap on the Lab tab in your Epocrates application.
  2. Look up a test.
  3. Tap on the triangle in the lower left corner of the screen to display the yellow monograph menu.
  4. Tap on Cost/Billing to view commonly associated ICD-9 codes.
  5. BONUS TIP: To set the Cost/Billing screen with ICD-9 codes as your default Dx screen, tap on the Lab tab, tap on Tools (Palm OS users - tap on the e symbol first), select Preferences, and choose Default to: Cost Billing.

Redownload Your Epocrates Mobile Software

If you need to redownload and reinstall your Epocrates mobile software (for example because you changed devices, want to get the latest version of your software, or are having technical problems), simply sign in to your account and use our easy one-sync installation process.

How?

Epocrates Mobile Software Users Only:

  1. Ensure that your handheld device is connected to your computer.
  2. Sign in to your Epocrates Account with your email address and password.
    Request a reminder of your password.
  3. Click on Re-Download My Mobile Software.
  4. Click Download next to the application you wish to redownload.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions. Don't forget to AutoUpdate (sync while connected to the Internet) to complete your installation.

Commonly associated ICD-9 codes are included in the Cost/Billing section of Epocrates Lab monographs.

Customize Your Epocrates Application

To always see ICD-9 codes first when you go to a disease or lab monograph, set your Dx and Lab Preferences.
