Look up dosage form/dosage strength in the Epocrates drug database

Available strengths and limited dosage form information is provided in an abbreviated format within every Epocrates Rx and Epocrates Online drug monograph. You can look up this product availability information in two monograph sections.

How?

  1. Tap on the Rx tab and select a drug.
  2. Select Adult Dosing or Peds Dosing from the monograph menu.
  3. Under the drug name at the top you will see dosage forms/strengths.
  4. If you see an ellipse, …, after the dosage forms, tap on it to view the full list.

Note:

  • Where no dosage form is indicated, the strengths refer to one or both of the most common dosage forms: tablets or capsules. Other dosage forms are noted in an abbreviated format (e.g., CH = chewable tablets, crm = cream, MDI = metered dose inhaler). Refer to the Abbreviations list below for a complete list of dosage form abbreviations.
  • Units are provided to indicate available dosage strengths, with the exception of “mg”, as it is the most commonly used unit. Availability of injectable dosage forms are indicated by inclusion of the corresponding route abbreviations (e.g., SC, IM, IV). However, strengths or concentrations are not specified for injectable dosage forms due to space constraints.
