| What does it mean if a word is underlined? | |
| If a word or letter in Epocrates Online is underlined, that means that you can click on the word/letter to select it or request more information. When you click on the underline, you will often find the additional information located in the lower left hand corner of the screen. | |
| What if a drug I am looking for is not in Epocrates Online? | |
| Simply send an e-mail to clinical@epocrates.com with your request for a specific drug addition. | |
| How do I check for interactions among multiple drugs and alternative medicines? | |
| To access our "MultiCheck"
feature, simply select the red tab with an "M" checkmark. From the left side
of the screen, select drugs and alternative medicines. Once you see all the
drugs and alternative medicines you want to evaluate for interactions in the
"Selected" window on the right, then click on "Run MultiCheck".
At the bottom of the screen, under "MultiCheck Results", you will find on the left the pairs of drugs or alternative medicines that interact with each other. Simply click on any of these pairs to see the corresponding interaction statement to the right of that section. | |
| How do I view Drug Interactions content in the Drugs and Alt Meds monographs? | |
| In the Drug Interactions sections
of Drugs and Alt Meds monographs, click on the underlined drug groups to view the
interaction statements, which will appear in the bottom left corner.
Click on the triangle to the right of a drug group to see which drugs belong to that drug group, and this information will appear in the window in the bottom left corner. | |
| How do I add/delete formularies to my formulary list on the main "Drug" tab of Epocrates Online? | |
| If you want to add or delete formularies from the "Formulary" category on the top left of the drug screen, simply click on the "Formulary" tab at the top of the screen. Follow the directions to add or delete formularies from your Epocrates Online user profile. | |
| What if a formulary I am interested in is not available from epocrates under the "Formulary" tab? | |
| epocrates works with many health plans to include their formulary information in Epocrates Online. However, there are still many health plan formularies that we currently do not have available. You can help us by emailing the plans that you would like to see in Epocrates Online. To send an email to a health plan, click on the "Formulary" tab at the top of the screen. Then click on the "Click here" link next to the question "Are we missing a formulary you want?" and follow the directions for sending an email to the plans that you would like to see included in Epocrates Online. | |
| Where do I look for formulary information on the Drugs tab? | |
| After you have selected the formularies you'd like to access in Epocrates Online, go to the Drugs tab. In the top left corner, under the "Formulary" section, select the formulary plan for which you would like to see information. Click on the "Info" button for additional information about that formulary plan. | |
| In the "Drugs List" below,
you will see codes to the right of each Drug. Click on one of these codes
to view more information directly below, in the bottom left corner.
If you've selected a Drug, and it is displayed on the right part of the Drugs tab, just below the name of the Drug you can see more detailed formulary information by clicking on the underlined text following the formulary plan name. This information will appear in the bottom left corner. | |
| How do I print Drug, Alt Med, or Table content? | |
| In each monograph, you will find a "Printer-Friendly Formats" section with a printer icon. Click on the desired item, and a separate browser window with the corresponding content will appear. Then use the Print feature of the browser (from the menu bar at the top of the browser window) to print the page. | |
