Adult Dosing .

Dosage forms:  TAB: 5 mg, 20 mg, 50 mg

hemolytic anemia, pyruvate kinase deficiency-associated

[5-50 mg PO bid]

Start: 5 mg PO bid, may incr. dose no more frequently than q4wk to 20 mg PO bid, then to 50 mg PO bid if Hgb below normal range or pt requires transfusion w/in 8wk; Max: 50 mg/dose; 100 mg/day; Info: do not cut/crush/chew/dissolve tab; taper to D/C if no response by 24wk (see pkg insert for taper schedule)
