vaccinia immune globulin (human)
Black Box Warnings .
Interactions w/ Glucose Monitoring Systems
measure blood glucose in pts receiving vaccinia immune globulin (human) w/ a glucosespecific method (monitor and test strips) to avoid maltose interference; do not use glucose dehydrogenase pyrroloquinolinequinone or glucose-dyeoxidoreductase method (monitor and test strips) since maltose in vaccinia immune globulin (human) may give falsely high blood glucose levels and result in inappropriate insulin admin. and life-threatening hypoglycemia; true hypoglycemia may go untreated; carefully review the blood glucose testing system product information, incl. for test strips, to determine if appropriate for use w/ maltose-containing parenteral products
