Arrhythmias
serious, sometimes fatal cardiac arrhythmias including ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation, torsades de pointes, and QT prolongation reported; many events in combo with 3A4 inhibitor drugs that incr. cisapride level; contraindicated with 3A4 inhibitors, if history prolonged QT intervals/known family history congenital long QT syndrome, renal failure, history ventricular arrhythmias, ischemic heart disease, CHF, clinically significant bradycardia, uncorrected electrolyte disorders including hypokalemia/hypomagnesemia, and respiratory failure; contraindicated in combo with drugs which prolong QT interval/incr. arrhythmia risk including but not limited to class IA/III antiarrhythmics, TCAs, maprotiline, certain phenothiazines, sertindole, astemizole, bepridil, sparfloxacin, and terodiline; do not exceed recommended dose
