Dose: apply small drop on skin, then apply shallow puncture through drop; Start: before intradermal skin test; Info: for patients w/ clinical penicillin hypersensitivity history; read results at 10min; positive reaction >5 mm pale wheal w/ erythema and pruritis; negative rxn <5 mm wheal w/o erythema or pruritis

[intradermal skin test]

Dose: inject 3 mm bleb intradermally x2 at least 2 cm apart; Start: after negative puncture skin test; Info: for patients w/ clinical penicillin hypersensitivity history; inject like amount of saline or allergen diluting solution as control at least 5 cm from antigen test sites; read results at 20min; positive response = antigen intradermal skin test bleb size incr. to at least 5 mm; repeat test if control site rxn >2-3 mm
