Hypersensitivity Reaction
serious and fatal hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylaxis; immediately and permanently D/C tx if clinical evidence of serious hypersensitivity reaction
Hemolysis
can cause severe hemolysis in G6PD deficiency; immediately and permanently D/C tx in any patient with hemolysis; screen high risk G6PD deficiency patients including African or Mediterranean descent prior to use
Methemoglobinemia
immediately and permanently D/C tx if methemoglobinemia
Uric Acid Test Interference
enzymatic degradation of uric acid in blood samples left at room temperature resulting in spuriously low uric acid levels; collect blood in pre-chilled tubes with heparin, immediately immerse and maintain in ice water bath, and assay sample within 4h of collection
