They makedeterminations about content, workflow, and publication based on theirprofessional experience, clinical judgment and feedback from users of the Services. Epocrates Content is created, developed, or curated by our MedicalInformation Staff. Sources for Epocrates Content include, but are not limitedto, in-house generated drug information and proprietary content developed for ourInfectious Disease Treatment Selector and Labs content. Additional content iscurated from third-party sources, such as diseases information and medicalcalculators. We also publish content from government agencies (such as the FDA,CDC, and AHRQ) as well as from professional medical organizations. Epocratesreviews the content provided through the Services on a regular basis to ensurethat we continue to provide content that is accurate, current, unbiased,relevant, and essential to our members at the point of care. Content providedthrough our Services is updated as necessary.
As an extension of Epocratespoint-of-care clinical reference content, additional Epocrates content iscreated and curated to appeal to clinicians’ interest in clinical news, medicaland scientific research, as well as informational and editorial content. Thiscontent may include communications about the practice of medicine, issuesrelevant to clinicians as individuals, and trends relevant to their treatmentof patients. Sources for this content type include publicly available informationfrom government agencies, medical journals, medical news platforms, medicalprofessional organizations, clinical and scientific podcasts, as well aspublications that feature medical news. Individuals internal and external toEpocrates contribute to such content through research, writing, editing, andreview. Content of a clinical nature is reviewed by clinicians prior topublication. This type of Epocrates content also adheres to quality standardsto ensure that it is accurate, current, unbiased, and relevant to readers.
Some content offered through ourServices is sourced from, developed, by and/or provided at the direction ofcommercial entities. The Epocrates Medical Information Staff does not controlthe development of this content, and the Epocrates Content editorial review processis not applied. While members of the Epocrates Medical Information staff mayconsult on structure, concepts, and guidelines related to Commercial Content,they are not engaged in the creation, curation, or development of CommercialContent.
