CDC recommends second COVID-19 vaccine dose for seniors and immunocompromised
October 25, 2024

CDC recommends the second dose of 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccine be administered six months after the first dose. The goal is to enhance protection against severe COVID-19 outcomes, particularly for those at higher risk, and to provide clear guidance on vaccination schedules for health care providers. This update also allows for additional doses based on clinical decisions.
