E. coli outbreak tied to organic carrots

CDC and public health officials are currently investigating a multistate outbreak of E. coli O121 infections linked to multiple brands of recalled organic whole bagged carrots and baby carrots from Grimmway Farms. While carrots on store shelves are likely unaffected, recalled products may still be present in consumers' homes.

On November 16, 2024, Grimmway Farms recalled various sizes and brands of bagged organic baby and whole carrots.
Baby organic carrots:
- Best-if-used-by dates: 9/11/2024 to 11/12/2024
- Brands include: 365, Bunny Luv, Cal-Organic, Compliments, Full Circle, Good & Gather, GreenWise, Grimmway Farms, Marketside, Nature's Promise, O-Organic, President's Choice, Raley's, Simple Truth, Sprouts, Trader Joe's, Wegmans, Wholesome Pantry.
Whole organic carrots:
- Purchase Period: 8/14/2024 to 10/23/2024
- No best-if-used-by dates listed.
- Brands Include: Same as above.
Recommendations:
- Do not consume any recalled bagged organic carrots.
- Check refrigerators and freezers for recalled products and dispose of them properly.
- Clean any surfaces or items that may have come into contact with the recalled carrots using hot soapy water or a dishwasher.
