In a retrospective diagnostic study of 45,080 children, EHR-based early autism detection models at age 30 days were comparable to caregiver surveys collected at ages 18 to 24 months. Accuracy improved further by age 1 year. The results suggest that EHR-based monitoring could be integrated with caregiver surveys and other screening tools to improve the accuracy of early autism screening.
