FDA greenlights implantable shock absorber for treatment of knee OA

The FDA has granted marketing authorization of the MISHA Knee System, an implantable shock absorber (ISA) indicated for treatment of medial knee OA in patients who failed non-surgical or surgical treatment, continue to have pain that interferes with daily activities, and are ineligible for, or unwilling to undergo, joint replacement. The ISA demonstrated superiority over high tibial osteotomy in a cohort study.
