How common is PE in patients in the ED with dyspnea on exertion?

In this large cross-sectional study, one-third of patients who went to the ED due to recent onset of exertional dyspnea were confirmed to have pulmonary embolism by CT angiography, suggesting that this diagnosis may be more prevalent than previously thought.
