In a personal statement, Catherine, 42, expressed that she is making good progress in her recovery but acknowledged the ups and downs of undergoing chemotherapy. She emphasized that participation in King Charles's birthday parade this weekend doesn't signify a formal return to public life.

"I am not out of the woods yet," the princess said.

The type of cancer and prognosis have not been disclosed, and Catherine's treatment is expected to continue for a few more months. She expressed gratitude for the support and encouragement she has received during her illness.

The British royal family has faced challenges as both Catherine and Charles battled serious health issues, adding strain to the family following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Charles has already resumed public duties after his treatment for prostate cancer.
