Black Box Warnings .

Cardiovascular Thrombotic Event

NSAIDs incr. risk of serious and potentially fatal cardiovascular thrombotic events, including MI and stroke; risk may occur early in tx and may incr. with duration of use; contraindicated in CABG periop setting

GI Bleeding, Ulceration, and Perforation

NSAIDs incr. risk of serious and potentially fatal GI adverse events including bleeding, ulcer, and stomach or intestine perforation; GI events may occur at any time during use and without warning symptoms; elderly patients and patients with history of PUD or GI bleeding at greater risk for serious GI events

Adult Dosing .

Dosage forms: TAB: 50 mg, 100 mg

rheumatoid arthritis

[50-100 mg PO bid-tid]: Max: 300 mg/day; Info: may give qid; use lowest effective dose, shortest effective tx duration; decr. dose in CYP2C9 poor metabolizers; give with food if GI upset occurs

osteoarthritis

[50-100 mg PO bid-tid]: Max: 300 mg/day; Info: may give qid; use lowest effective dose, shortest effective tx duration; decr. dose in CYP2C9 poor metabolizers; give with food if GI upset occurs

dysmenorrhea (off-label)

[50-100 mg PO bid-tid]: Start: 100 mg x1; Max: 300 mg/day; Info: may give qid; use lowest effective dose, shortest effective tx duration; decr. dose in CYP2C9 poor metabolizers; give with food if GI upset occurs

for anti-inflammatory uses (off-label)
