Omega-3 fatty acids from seafood may protect against chronic kidney disease

According to pooled results from 19 prospective cohort studies (N=25,570), higher seafood-derived omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) levels (EPA, DPA, and DHA) were associated with a lower risk of incident CKD and a slower decline in renal function. Plant-derived omega-3 PUFA level (alpha-linolenic acid) wasn't associated with incident CKD.
