FDA greenlights new treatment for adults with Fabry disease

Elfabrio (pegunigalsidase alfa-iwxj), a hydrolytic lysosomal neutral glycosphingolipid-specific enzyme, has been approved for the treatment of adults with Fabry disease, with a recommended dosage of 1 mg/kg q2wks, given as an IV infusion. The most common adverse effects are infusion reactions, nasopharyngitis, headache, diarrhea, fatigue, nausea, back pain, extremity pain, and sinusitis.
