How do IV ketamine and intranasal esketamine compare in treatment-resistant depression?

In an observational study involving 62 adults with treatment-resistant depression, IV ketamine and IN esketamine resulted in similar rates of response and remission. However, the number of treatments required to achieve remission was significantly lower with IV ketamine. A randomized controlled trial is needed to confirm the findings.
