Manufacturers to cease production of fentanyl 'lollipops' and related products

Manufacturers of transmucosal immediate-release fentanyl (TIRF) medicines announced that production of all such products will be discontinued on September 30, 2024. In a press release, FDA says there are currently fewer than 150 patients receiving treatment with TIRF medicines. These patients may continue treatment under the Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) while TIRF medicine supply remains available.
