Prednisone fails to improve live birth rates in IVF patients with recurrent implantation failure

In a randomized trial of 715 patients with a history of ≥2 unsuccessful embryo transfer cycles, 10 mg of prednisone daily didn’t improve live birth rate compared with placebo (37.8% vs. 38.8%). The rate of biochemical pregnancy loss was 17.3% in the prednisone group vs. 9.9% in the placebo group. Preterm delivery occurred in 11.8% of prednisone recipients vs. 5.5% in the placebo group.
